Many of the metal components produced at Tegra Medical are subsequently assembled or insert molded with plastic components. To reduce lead time and costs for the manufacturing of your medical devices, we provide injection and insert molding in our Dartmouth facility. Within this facility we have a class 100,000 molding clean room and a class 10,000 clean room for assembly and packaging. Our capabilities include onsite pad printing and ultrasonic welding.
Insert and injection molding is especially suited to medical device manufacturing because it ensures more uniform product quality and improved reliability. Whether you have a new device concept or an approved design, we’ll work with you to provide whatever insert and/or injection molding services you need.
Molded Parts and Devices
Some of the medical devices we manufacture with molding and ultrasonic welding include:
- Insert-molded cannula and needles
- Luer taper hubs with ancillary attachments
- Insert-molded stylets
- Insert-molded biopsy sets
- Injection molded handle and trigger components
- Ultrasonic-welded wires, tubes, shafts, braided Nitinol, and more
Tegra Medical uses several 44-ton Arburg ALLROUNDER systems that are ideally suited for reliable injection-molding of highly-precise products. As our customers require ever more complex geometries for their devices, these machines allow us to meet their needs by operating in a horizontal or vertical position to produce injection-molded components and insert-molded assemblies.
Always in tune with our customers’ needs, we work with a wide variety of medical grade, engineered thermoplastics (such as PEEK) for both prototyping and production runs. The combination of our internal tool making and design capabilities and our excellent network of tool makers gives us the capability to expedite construction of molds.
If you need custom or specialty needles, cannula assemblies, or a minimally invasive device, we have the right capabilities and expertise to assist you from concept to packaged product. From low cost prototypes to full-scale automated assembly and packaging, let Tegra Medical simplify your project by providing you with complete product solutions.
