Tegra Medical Expands Senior Management Team

FRANKLIN, MA – Tegra Medical is pleased to announce that Jim Hillman has joined the company as Vice President Operations for its two Massachusetts facilities. Jim is a strong advocate of lean manufacturing principles and brings a solid mixture of metals and plastics manufacturing experience to Tegra. He has led several ISO-registered, multi-site organizations with revenues in excess of $100 million and more than 800 employees. Jim has managed diverse manufacturing capabilities including Swiss machining, CNC milling and turning, EDM, laser processing, metal stamping, injection molding, cleanroom assembly and packaging and contract sterilization. He has a proven managerial track record building strong organizations, meeting customer requirements and improving operating efficiencies.

“We’re excited to welcome Jim to the Tegra team,” said Bob Roche, President & CEO. “His knowledge of medical device contract manufacturing, creativity, drive, engaging management style and strong customer focus are the attributes we wanted to lead our Massachusetts operations.”

Jim joins Tegra from Vaupell, an international supplier of injection molded components and assemblies, where he held the position of Northeast Division General Manager for the past five years. Previously, Jim held positions as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Smiths Medical, where he was responsible for two manufacturing plants supplying disposable medical devices. Prior to Smiths, Jim spent six years at Accellent in various roles, most recently as Vice President Operations for the Orthopaedics Division, responsible for facilities in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania producing orthopaedic implants and instruments. Earlier in his career, Jim held various senior level manufacturing leadership positions with EvenFlo Products and Newell Rubbermaid, both in Ohio. He is also a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Jim holds a B.S. in Systems Analysis from Miami University in Ohio and an M.B.A. from Oregon State University.

Bob Miller will move from his current role of Vice President Operations to assume the newly created position of Vice President GENESIS Tech Center (GTC). Since its inception in February 2009, The GTC has proved highly effective at assisting clients with their product development needs and optimizing speed to market. With a focus on design for manufacturability, prototyping and pilot production, the GTC allows clients to execute more projects with fewer resources. Bob will assume responsibility for this important capability to ensure the systems and resources are in place to keep pace with increasing client demands.
