Custom Needle Manufacturing

Many customers have unique needs for their medical needle products. We can manufacture virtually any custom needle geometry. We offer design for manufacturability and assembly to ensure that these custom products will meet all functional requirements and be cost-effective. Our specialty needles are assembled with their caps and hubs before grinding, ensuring that all the parts go together perfectly.

Specialty coatings for dielectric properties and lubricity
Finishing services for echogenicity, polishing, laser marking, laser etching, and grit blasting

Below are some examples of how we custom-manufacture specialty needles and hypotubing to meet specific customer needs:

Tip forming of hypodermic tubing - swaging a pencil point to allow fluid transfer for a scientific, lab, or medical use
Ball ending – start with a tube and swaging to close off end of tube to create a sphere
Plasma-welding the end of a tube to create a sphere that is hermetically sealed and won’t leak
Forming a bullet nose end on a tube
Creating a trocar tip on hypotubing - plasma-welding to create a solid end, then grinding a trocar tip without blowing through
Custom needle fabrication, popping holes with EDM, ensuring they are burr-free. Adding slots after making pencil points so they can deposit or extract fluids, or implant a device or therapeutic agent.
